Arena of Champions patch notes: 0.28.1 guest-entry fix
The newest Arena of Champions patch notes entry in the original client snapshot inspected on November 3, 2026 is 0.28.1, titled Guests Welcome. The developer attributes failed new-guest entry to exhaustion of the previous guest-name pool and describes a six-digit naming scheme for newly created guests. Existing guest names are retained according to that record.
Our later desktop guest reached the town and opened the Warrior talent menu. The recorded menu walkthrough documents that result. It supports a successful entry on our setup; it does not independently establish the cause of an older error, a fix for every user or a completed match.
The same release describes additional site protection and advises refreshing an outdated browser page or restarting the optional Windows client to obtain its update. We did not run the Windows executable. If your browser displays a security check, follow its normal on-screen process; a protection page and a guest-server response are different stages. Do not disable browser security or keep creating accounts as a diagnostic shortcut.
Version 0.28: Arcane Mage and changed movement
The November 2 release titled Arcane introduces a third Mage specialization. Its described preparation loop builds Arcane Charges with Arcane Blast, then spends them through Arcane Barrage. That release is why an older two-spec Mage guide no longer covers the whole selection. The class directory lists the twenty-three specs present in the inspected snapshot.
The developer also describes removing Arcane Explosion from Mage specs, with a potential empty action-bar slot if a player previously placed it there. Check the actual current bar after updating rather than assuming an older eight-spell screenshot still matches. The release's movement notes concern momentum during jumps, a limited steer from a standing jump and arcing knockback/leap motion. These are announced behavior changes; our menu capture did not test their combat execution.
Dalaran Sewers stair access and aura/frame placement are also mentioned. A reader trying to reproduce an old path or interface arrangement should first compare the current client with the release date. A patch title does not establish an exact map collision model, and the existence of an announced fix does not supply a measured latency or frame-rate result.
Versions 0.27 and 0.26: changes that invalidate old notes
The November 2 Cultivation entry, version 0.27, replaces a Restoration Druid talent and describes changes to effects interacting with walls, interrupted casts and summons. For a saved build, the useful next action is to check the affected talent row and current tooltip. A label from a previous screenshot should not be carried forward without checking its replacement.
| 0.27 announced change | Previous value | New value | What to compare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Combat Rogue Killing Spree strike | 200 | 220 | Current ability tooltip; not a win-rate prediction |
| Elemental Shaman Lava Burst damage | 600 | 580 | Version and stated damage field |
| Elemental Shaman Lava Burst mana cost | 200 | 250 | Resource cost independently of damage |
| Elemental Shaman Earthquake per tick | 50 | 45 | The recorded 0.3-second tick interval |
These numbers are transcribed source facts from the dated announcement, not measurements from our own match. In particular, a damage reduction and a resource-cost increase have different units. Neither calculation can be converted directly into a percentage change in match wins.
The preceding Scorch release, version 0.26 on November 2, makes Mage schools more specialization-specific, adds Fire's Scorch and changes several talents and class abilities. The chronological order matters: reading only one older record can leave an immediately superseded value in a guide. Use the newest applicable entry, then inspect the live client before relying on a number.
Update a saved plan after reading a patch
- Identify the exact project and source version. This archive concerns Arena of Champions, not WebWoW or official WoW.
- Find the affected class, specialization, talent row or access stage. A guest-name fix does not imply an unrelated spell changed.
- Compare your current menu or tooltip with the dated note. Keep announced changes separate from actions you actually reproduced.
- Open the versioned talent planner and prepare a new link if the row choices changed.
- Record an unexpected mismatch with the old value, new label, class and observation date. A source correction should identify a reproducible difference.
This page groups useful changes from the current source snapshot. It does not manufacture a new article every day or create one duplicate page per tiny hotfix. A later independently checked release can update the relevant existing guide and this archive without overwriting historical dates.

Where the version evidence comes from
Primary source: the publicly linked client of Arena of Champions, inspected November 3, 2026. We read its embedded version records and class configuration without running a downloaded native application. The original website is the place to check subsequent releases; this guide does not host the game binary or reproduce its full changelog prose.
Our own observation covers guest town entry and the Warrior menu. Completed matches, balance outcomes and physical-phone behavior remain pending. The archive provides dated source interpretation, while the update journal also covers the separate WebWoW announcements. Keep their versions, figures and account systems apart.
